Mercantile Bank is pleased
to announce the
Banking on YOUth
Grant recipients
for the 2008-09
school year. Sixteen
grants have been
awarded to 17 teachers
at 11 schools totaling
$3646. An award
breakfast was
held Friday, May
9, 2008 at the new Mercantile Center
at 200 North 33rd
St. where the teachers
were presented
with their grant
monies and our thanks
for their efforts
on behalf of all
Quincy students.

Banking on YOUth,
now in its ninth
year, awards funds
to help provide
special classroom
projects and programs
that expand and
enhance the learning
experience of students
Pre-K-12 in the
Quincy public or
private non-profit
school system. Consideration
is given to unique
and creative projects
that encourage student
participation and
broaden their classroom
and community involvement
as well as help
develop alternative
and effective methods
of learning life
skills. Since 2000,
151 grants totaling
almost $38,000 have
been awarded to
Quincy classrooms.
