Banking at School: Class Schedule

Week One:

What is Money? This first session combines history, trivia, and hands-on fun, as you learn all about money. We talk about the origins of money, our currency system, our money’s new look, and foreign currency, just to name a few. Plus we have many real samples of old and new money, as well as games and prizes for the whole class! We can even help you start a savings account with your parents' permission!

Week Two:

Saving and Financial Planning! Week two ponders that all- important question: What do you want to do when you grow up? After you have figured that out, how much money do you think you will make and what will you do with it? This session helps compare needs versus wants, discusses budgeting, and introduces other financial planning ideas.

Week Three:

Field Trip! Come spend part of your day at the bank…see behind closed doors, check out the vault, learn what happens to a check once it is deposited, and much more. Treats and souvenirs for all!

Week Four:

Credit and Investments! Credit can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Learn why it is so important and how to keep it on your side. You will also be able to stock up on your investment knowledge as you enter the world of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
