Banking at School

Introduction

The Banking at School Program at Mercantile Bank is designed to introduce 5th and 6th grade students to the world of banking. Students have the opportunity to learn the value of saving for the future and the benefits of successful money management.

The four week course covers topics like: "What is Money", "Why You Should Save", "The Benefits of Financial Planning", "How Banks Work", "What is Credit and How to Manage It Responsibly", as well as "Exploring Investment Options". Banking At School is designed to be fun, informative and interactive. A variety of hands-on activities are offered, including a field trip to the bank…a class favorite!
