Accounts for You

Penny Wise Savings

Your very first savings account! If you are 15 and under, this is the account for you. It only takes $25.00 to open this savings account. And because you’re you, there are NO service fees on this account! What a great way to begin a lifetime of savings.

Statement Savings

You are on your way to great savings! This account is for serious savers 16 and over. All you need to begin this account is $50.00. Now that you are driving, and maybe even working, spending money becomes easier than saving it. So to help make sure you don’t empty your savings to fill your tank, we have put a service fee on this account. You must keep an average quarterly balance of $50.00. Otherwise, there is a $6.00 service fee for the three month period you drop below this average balance.

College Saver CD

Saving for college has never been so easy. This cool certificate of deposit was designed with you in mind! Most certificates of deposit at Mercantile Bank require a minimum deposit of $1,000. But since we want you to get started saving for college a lot sooner than it takes to save that much, this CD only needs $100 to get it going. Another neat feature that the College Saver CD offers is the ability to make additional deposits of only $25 at any time.

M-Univeristy Checking

This awesome checking account is a great way to begin flexing your financial responsibility muscles. You can open this account with as little as $100. And guess what? There are no monthly service fees and no foreign ATM fees* until you are 23! Even better - we want you to get started managing your money on the right track. When you open an M-University Checking account you will receive a "Managing Your Checking Account" guide along with other guides throughout the first year that will help you learn about saving, budgeting, and credit. So if you are 16 or older, talk to your mom or dad and see if you are ready to "enroll" in M-University Checking!

*ATMs not owned by us (Mercantile Bancorp, Inc.) may still charge a fee.
